After years of background product development and extensive trials, the team at CANNA is extremely proud to announce a new type of coir substrate to help growers succeed: COCO Coarse.
For years, gardeners have been mixing coir with pebbles or perlite to reduce water retention and improve drainage/aeration. These mixes gave the properties growers wanted, but inadvertently created ‘dead space’ in the substrate too; neither water nor roots will penetrate a pebble.
Through combining a larger, more coarse fraction of coir fibre, alongside a portion of rice husk and the same quality coir we have produced for years, we have created a substrate with all the watering properties of a mix substrate, but maintained the higher natural Cation Exchange Capacity of coir and allowed the roots to have access to 100% of the pot volume.
The structure growers want, naturally.
