It’s peace, love, and flowers at The Wandering Bee Flower Farm. This family-run operation works with nature to grow ‘field-to-vase’ blooms for the local community surrounding Thorndale, Ontario. Gardening is always about the present, but this farm also focuses on the future, starting with regenerative agriculture and organic growing practices. Together with their three children, Dan and Bronwyn believe in building healthy soil before growing anything else. The family has farmed the property for over seven years, always following the rhythms of nature to strengthen the soil web. Fresh and dried flowers are the specialty here, but you’ll find the blooms interplanted with rows of organically grown vegetables to attract pollinators and other beneficial insects for pest control. It’s a polyculture system at its finest, with a mix of plants and animals, including an alpaca and a donkey, living symbiotically. The Wandering Bee Flower Farm is living proof that organic, sustainable, regenerative growing practices work.

The farm’s pride and joy is its stunning seasonal cut flowers. Locally grown, hand-tied bouquets are thoughtfully arranged in eco-friendly packaging with a wide variety of colorful blooms from the fields. Customers can order flowers and wreaths online for delivery on Wednesdays or pick up directly at the farm Tuesday through Friday. They also offer bouquet subscriptions with several options throughout the season. The Wandering Bee Flower Farm sells its flowers at a couple of local weekend markets and takes special orders for weddings. Dan and Bronwyn love dahlias, and who can blame them? They sell dahlia tubers on their website (while quantities last) and also host a variety of farm experiences, including a yoga-and-dahlias evening, pick-and-design workshops, holiday wreath and urn workshops, and private gatherings. Next year, The Wandering Bee is expanding to farm-stay experiences; stay tuned!
You’ve heard the expression ‘dirty kids are happy kids’, and it’s so true at The Wandering Bee Flower Farm. Dan and Bronwyn admit that, for them, the soil under their fingernails is part of the fun of growing flowers. Their love for the great outdoors sparked their dream of starting a fresh-cut flower farm that works in close harmony with Mother Nature. What helps keep them going are the many customers who make it a priority to shop local and support sustainable farmers. The Wandering Bee Flower Farm isn’t just about beautiful flowers; it’s about a bigger commitment to living with intention, nurturing community, and taking good care of the planet.
