Sebastian Malinowski – Suski

Hampshire, England, United Kingdom

From a hobbyist veg grower, through the Giant Veg competition champion, to a keen beekeeper – Sebastian has it all ticked. He inherited a passion for homegrown produce through his Polish ancestry. Allotmenteering in Poland is somewhat a national sport. His devotion to selecting the finest seeds and cooperating with other giant seed collectors has produced some whoppers over the years.

Growing a 153 kg marrow and 704 kg pumpkin bagged him a top prize at the RHS Giant Veg show in 2019, and his 44.7 long chilli set a UK record. In 2021 he’s growing some giant cantaloupe melons (imagine five bags of sugar side by side for size comparison) and rare peppers with carefully selected seeds straight from Italy. Seb’s new and rapidly developing passion for beekeeping has resulted in a growing apiary, with 26 hives this season and thousands of girls to look after, which in turn look after the pollination in his garden.
